CALL FOR PAPERS
9th Annual ICT Conference
ICT's Role Towards a Knowledge Economy
5-6 September 2008, Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya
Website:http://www.strathmore.edu/ictconference/2008/
Since the year 2000, the Faculty of Information Technology at Strathmore University has organised an annual ICT Conference. The Conference brings together academics, researchers, students, young professionals and industry experts to discuss about their research and share their experiences about the latest developments in the industry and its application in both the private and public sectors. Every year, the conference offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in discussions centred on a particular theme selected by both academics and industry practitioners. This year, our conference theme is "ICT's Role Towards a Knowledge Economy".
The first day is singled out for the academics and other researchers to highlight and showcase their research to their peers. It allows academics, researchers and students to have discussions centred on the new developments from their individual research. On the second day, the conference offers a forum for the invited speakers' and industrial experts both in public and private sectors to highlight and discuss about the experiences in Industry. It is also intended to be a focus for awareness towards the uptake and implementations of ICT in the different sectors of the economy.
Posters by young researchers, students and/or young professionals will be on display in prominent locations for two days of the conference. The posters will be grouped under specific sections based on the sub-themes of the ICT conference to enable sharing of research findings in higher institutions of learning in the country.
Topics of this year's ICT conference includes but is not limited to:
ICT and Governance;
Broadband Communications, Networks and Systems;
